Your Local Osborne Park Behaviour Support Team

Choosing a behaviour support practitioner is a personal decision, and it matters that the fit feels right. In Osborne Park, we meet people where they are, at home, at school, at work, or somewhere quiet in the community. We listen first, ask questions, and build a picture of what’s actually happening before we start recommending changes.

Our Osborne Park PBS practitioners offer customised services to support participants and their support network, through understanding the person, problem-solving challenging behaviour, and empowering participants to live independently and engage fully within their community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Positive behaviour support can be funded through the NDIS, if you have funding for it in your plan.

Yes. We see participants wherever the behaviour is happening, whether that’s home, school, work, or out in the community. We can also meet online if that works better.

We work with children and adults, and our approach is the same regardless of age: listen first, understand the reasons behind the behaviour, and develop practical strategies with the people who know the participant best. Whether it’s difficulty at school, meltdowns at home, or behaviours that are putting housing, work, or community access at risk, PBS starts with understanding.

A PBS practitioner is a specialist trained in understanding behaviour and developing evidence-based support strategies. At Mindspace, our practitioners:

– Conduct functional behaviour assessments to understand the purpose and triggers of behaviours of concern
– Develop individualised behaviour support plans with proactive and reactive strategies
– Work with your support network (family, support workers, teachers, housing providers) so everyone is on the same page
– Observe behaviour in real-life settings (home, school, work, community) to get the full picture
– Provide training and capacity building for the people around the participant
– Monitor and review plans as things change, because they always do
– Report on restrictive practices to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission where required

Mindspace operates from locations across Western Australia and Victoria:

Western Australia: Perth (Girrawheen, Gosnells, Joondalup, Osborne Park, Midland, Rockingham), Mandurah, Geraldton, and Carnarvon.

Victoria: Werribee, Dandenong, and Deer Park. Covering Melbourne’s western and south-eastern suburbs.

Our practitioners are mobile. We can come to you at home, a school, a workplace, or somewhere in the community. For regional families in WA’s Midwest and Gascoyne, we’re one of the few PBS providers with a local presence.

PBS is for anyone whose behaviours of concern are affecting their quality of life, their relationships, or their ability to participate in daily activities. That might look different for every person:

For a child, it might be difficulty at school or challenges with transitions and routines. For an adult, it might be behaviours that are putting housing, work, or community access at risk. For a family, it might be feeling overwhelmed, unsure what to do, or worried that things are getting harder.

Whatever the situation, PBS starts with understanding. We don’t make assumptions about why behaviour is happening – we listen, observe, and work with you to find a path forward.

We work with agency managed, plan managed, and self-managed participants.
